Blaze Breaks Out on Portsmouth Pub Roof
Firefighters from Southsea and Cosham rushed to Commercial Road in Portsmouth this afternoon to tackle a fierce roof fire at a local pub. Three fire engines are currently at the scene after being called just before 5pm.
Aerial Ladder Deployed to Fight Flames
An aerial ladder platform was used to battle the blaze, helping crews contain the fire to the pub’s roof. The landlord revealed the cause is baffling since the only work done recently was installing a new flat roof just last week.
“Fire crews had managed to contain the fire to the roof area of the pub and we have started to clean up the water,” the landlord said. “It’s a mystery how the fire started.”
