Blaze Erupts at Former Walkabout Pub in Southampton

Firefighters are racing against the clock to contain a fierce fire that erupted at the former Walkabout pub on Southampton’s High Street. The nearby Dolphin Hotel has also been cordoned off amid safety concerns.

Four Fire Engines and Aerial Ladder Deployed

The fire broke out just after 9:30pm on Thursday, prompting a major emergency response. Four fire appliances from across the city, alongside an aerial ladder platform from St Mary’s, were scrambled to the scene to battle the spreading flames.

High Street Shut Down Amid Ongoing Firefighting Efforts

Police have shut the High Street in both directions to allow fire crews safe and unfettered access. Multiple fire crews remain on site as they work through the night to bring the blaze under control.
