Woman, 35, Dies in Horrific Leyton Stabbing – Murder Investigation Underway
Victim Named: Li Qing Wang Found with Multiple Stab Wounds
Detectives have named the woman at the heart of a grim murder probe in Leyton. Li Qing Wang, 35, was discovered with multiple stab injuries at a home on Magnolia Close on Tuesday, 25 February. Paramedics and officers rushed to the scene but could not save her.
Man, 54, Arrested and Held on Suspicion of Murder
A 54-year-old man who was inside the property at the time was arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody while a post-mortem is scheduled for this week to determine the exact cause of death.
Met Police Launch Urgent Appeal for Information
Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command, led by Detective Chief Inspector Paul Considine, are now working to piece together what led to this tragedy.
“To understand why this tragic incident occurred I would urge anyone that knew the victim well and had insight into her domestic situation to contact my team,” said DCI Considine.
“At this time we are not seeking other suspects but need Mrs Wang’s friends and family to help us.”
Community Help Sought – Interpreters Available
The Met has promised help for those whose first language isn’t English, offering interpreter services to anyone wanting to provide information.
“This is the worst of times for Mrs Wang’s family and loved ones and we will continue to provide specialist support,” DCI Considine added.
