Four Family Members Found Stabbed to Death in Bermondsey Horror
Shock ripples through Bermondsey after four people — three women and one man — were found brutally stabbed to death in a grim family massacre. Police swooped at the £650,000 Delaford Road property in the early hours of Monday following a disturbance call.
Grandmother, Daughter, Granddaughter Among Victims
Among the victims is grandmother Dolet Hill, described by family as a “lovely, lovely person” who had recently beaten cancer. She worked as a housekeeper at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. Her partner, Denton Burke, a long-time Westminster council street cleaner, was also found dead.
Tanysha Drummonds, a hard-working community nurse, and her daughter Samantha Drummonds, Dolet’s granddaughter, were also brutally murdered.
Armed Police Arrest Suspect Following Taser Standoff
Locals identified the man arrested on suspicion of murder as Joshua Jerome Derriviere Jacques, who lived with his girlfriend – also one of the victims – on the outskirts of Lewisham. Witnesses say Joshua was tasered after lunging at officers with a knife.
The close friend revealed the couple and Tanysha’s daughter had attended a family gathering at the Delaford Road flat around 8pm Sunday evening before the horror unfolded.
Police Launch Full-Scale Investigation as Community Reels
Concerned nurse Tracey Henry, Dolet’s daughter, raised the alarm when she couldn’t reach her mother. Armed police forced entry shortly after 1.45am, finding all four victims dead despite paramedics’ desperate efforts.
Officers have cordoned off the scene with metal fencing, using battering rams and specialist search teams, including sniffer dogs, to comb gardens and rubbish bins for clues. Portaloos and floodlights remain set up as detectives probe the brutal family killings.
A Met Police spokesperson said: “Officers found four people suffering stab injuries. Despite efforts, all four were pronounced dead at the scene. A man is in custody on suspicion of murder. Enquiries continue.”
