A major emergency response was sparked today in Howard Drive, Borehamwood after five people were found unwell at a home in a suspected drug overdose.
Five Hospitalised in Suspected Overdose
Shortly before 11am, emergency services rushed to reports of multiple people falling ill at a residential address. Among those affected were one man and four women, all rushed to hospital. Their current conditions remain unconfirmed.
Police arrested a man at the scene on suspicion of drug offences. He was also taken to hospital and remains under medical care as inquiries continue.
Separate Incident Sees Woman Arrested
While officers dealt with the overdose situation, another flare-up erupted nearby on Howard Drive. A man and woman were reportedly threatened outside a different address.
A woman was arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill and possession of an offensive weapon. She is now in custody for questioning. Thankfully, no injuries were reported in this unrelated incident.
Police Boost Patrols Amidst Ongoing Investigations
Inspector Rachael Robertson of the Hertsmere Neighbourhood Policing Team vowed increased police presence throughout the evening.
“We are increasing patrols in the area this evening, so if you have any concerns please do speak to our officers who will be on hand to help,” said Inspector Robertson.
