Hit-and-Run Mercedes Abandoned and Torched in Dorset
At 9.20am on Thursday, July 29, a silver Mercedes smashed into an MG ZS at Bath Hill roundabout, Dorset. The Mercedes driver fled the scene, leaving the MG damaged.
Mercedes Dumped, Three Flee on Foot
The getaway car was later found abandoned in Gervis Road. Three people bolted from the scene, leaving the Mercedes with heavy front-end damage. Officers arrived to find the vehicle locked and began tracking down its owner.
Stolen Car Set Ablaze
The same day, police were called again to Gervis Road for a car fire. Fire crews extinguished the blaze. The Mercedes was confirmed stolen shortly after the incident.
Police Launch Investigation, CCTV Released
CCTV images have been released of two men linked to the case. One man has come forward to assist police, but no arrests have been made yet.
PC Jamie Davis, Bournemouth Police: “I’m appealing for witnesses to the collision, the vehicle abandonment in Gervis Road, or the fire. We want to identify the two men in the CCTV images. Anyone with info should contact Dorset Police.”
