Mystery in Chippenham: Doberman Found Dead in Suspicious Circumstances
Police are hunting for clues after a three-year-old Doberman was discovered dead near Avenue La Fleche in Chippenham at around 9pm on September 22.
Dog Owner’s Nightmare
The dog’s finder thought it had been hit by a car and rushed it to the vet. But vets revealed the tragic truth: the dog suffered a fatal attack with a sharp object.
The owners, who had been searching after their pet ran off during a walk, have been informed of the heartbreaking news.
Police Appeal for Witnesses
“This was understandably a very distressing incident for the owners,” said PC Darren Willis. “Though initially we believed the dog was hit by a vehicle, we now suspect a deliberate attack. The actual crime scene may not be where the dog was found. We urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.”
