High-Speed Chase Ends in Crashing Arrest Near Swindon
Silver Land Rover Fails to Stop at Swindon Roundabout
Officers tried to pull over a silver Land Rover Discovery at the Commonhead Roundabout around 12:30am. The driver ignored the stop and sped off, sparking a tense police chase.
Wild Pursuit Across Wiltshire Countryside
The suspect vehicle tore through Liddington, Wanborough, Hinton Parva, Aldbourne, and Baydon. The chase ended when the Land Rover smashed through a fence and into a field near Lambourne, coming to a halt.
The police helicopter was scrambled to help track the suspects from above during the dramatic pursuit.
Four Men Arrested for Theft and Dangerous Driving
Four men jumped out and fled the vehicle but were quickly caught nearby. They face charges of vehicle theft, criminal damage, and dangerous driving.
The arrested suspects are:
- A 34-year-old from Reading
- A 28-year-old from the Cricklade area
- A 27-year-old from South Cerney
- A 23-year-old from South Cerney
All four remain in custody at Gablecross as inquiries continue.
