Murder probe launched after man found dead in Co Kildare stabbing
Man in his 30s found fatally stabbed in Sallins
Gardai have opened a murder investigation after a man in his 30s was found dead at a home in the Sallins Park area of Sallins, County Kildare, in the early hours of Sunday morning. Emergency services were called just after 3:15am.
Victim believed to be from Eastern Europe
The victim, thought to be originally from Eastern Europe, suffered fatal stabbing injuries. Despite officers’ efforts at the scene, he was pronounced dead. Forensic teams remain at the property as investigations ramp up.
Suspect arrested and questioned
A man in his early 20s was arrested and is currently being questioned at Naas Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984. Gardai have preserved the scene for a full technical examination.
Gardai ramp up investigation with dedicated teams
An official statement from Gardai said:
“The body remains at the scene, which has been preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau. The local Coroner and State Pathologist have been informed, and preparations are underway for a post-mortem.”
A senior investigating officer now leads the inquiry, and a Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support the victim’s relatives and keep them updated.
