Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan of Waterford and Lismore announced a prayer vigil to honour Matthew’s memory. It will be held at 7pm this Saturday at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity in Waterford. The vigil aims to bring comfort to Matthew’s grieving family and the wider community during this dark time.

“The loss of a young life is a profound tragedy that deeply affects us all,”

said Bishop Cullinan. “As a community, it is important for us to come together in prayer and reflection to offer comfort and strength to the family and friends of the young boy who has left us too soon.”

Ongoing Police Investigation Underway

An Garda Siochana have launched a full investigation and are conducting a thorough Section 123 inquiry. The local Coroner and Office of the State Pathologist have been notified, with forensic teams examining the scene as police seek answers.
