The pensioner had just stepped out to the shops when a dark-coloured vehicle slammed into her. She was rushed to Aintree Hospital with life-threatening injuries but sadly died shortly after arrival. Police are supporting her grieving family through this devastating loss.

Police Hunt Callous Driver Who Left Victim to Die

Merseyside Police have launched a manhunt for the driver who fled the scene. Superintendent Siobhan Russell pleaded: “I would appeal to anyone who may have any information to come forward. The 81-year-old victim had only popped out to shops and now her family are trying to come to terms with her loss.”

She added a blunt message for the culprit: “I would like to take this opportunity for the driver of the car to search their conscience and come forward.”

  • They suspect the hit-and-run car may have visible crash damage and could be parked or abandoned nearby.
