Thieves Raid Iford Manor, Steal Priceless Historic Statues
Wiltshire Police have launched a frantic manhunt after a brazen theft overnight at the picturesque Iford Manor, near the River Avon. Multiple historic bronze and classical statues were ripped from the estate between the night of June 19 and the early hours of June 20, 2025.
What’s Missing? Priceless Sculptures Gone
Officers revealed the haul includes:
- She-Wolf with Bronze Base – a rare and valuable piece
- Pair of Symmetrical Fawns – thought to be copies of the famous Villa Dei Papyri fawns
- Classical Roman Figure Statue – a stunning artifact from antiquity
Photos of the stolen statues have been circulated far and wide. Wiltshire Police are now tracking antiques dealers, museums, and auction houses nationwide to prevent these priceless items resurfacing on the black market.

The force is urgently appealing for witnesses who might have seen suspicious activity around Iford Manor between 10:45pm on Thursday and 8am on Friday.
“These pieces are distinctive and may be difficult to sell discreetly. We are urging the public, especially those involved in antiques and art trading, to stay alert and report any tips,” Wiltshire Police said.
