Man Found Dead After Collision

Kent Police are urgently appealing for information after a dog walker was killed in a hit-and-run in Tunbridge Wells.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was discovered by a passerby on the A2014 Pembury Road, just 200 metres south of the Vauxhall Inn, shortly before 9.15pm on Thursday, 6 August 2020.

He suffered injuries consistent with a vehicle collision. No driver stopped at the scene.

Dog Unharmed, Family Notified

The man was walking his dog at the time, but thankfully the animal was unharmed. His next of kin has been informed.

Police Plea: Dashcams and Witnesses Needed

“We urgently require anyone with information about this incident to come forward and help us to provide answers for the deceased’s family,” said PC Jamie Woodhams of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

“If your car dashcam caught any footage of the collision or suspicious vehicles in the A2014 and A21 area, please get in touch immediately.

“We also want to hear if you’ve spotted a damaged or abandoned vehicle nearby—it could be linked to the crash.”
