Fire crews battled a huge blaze involving multiple farm buildings in Little Hallingbury, Essex, in a major overnight operation.
Barn and Outbuildings Engulfed in Flames
Firefighters were called late Friday night to find a large open-sided barn, a wooden outbuilding, and several smaller structures and containers fully ablaze.
Swift Action Saves Thatched Home and Horses
Crews worked quickly to stop the fire from spreading to a nearby thatched house and stables housing horses. Thanks to their fast response, no animals were harmed, and the stable block escaped damage.
Water supply was a key challenge, forcing firefighters to call in two water bowsers to help tackle the blaze.
Fire Fully Extinguished but Scene Still Active
By 6am Saturday, the fire was fully out. However, crews stayed on site to dampen hotspots and watch for any flare-ups.
The cause of the fire remains unknown. Fire investigation officers are set to examine the scene later today.
Local residents are urged to stay cautious due to lingering smoke and avoid the area while safety checks continue.
