British Transport Police (BTP), London Ambulance Service, and London Fire Brigade rushed to the scene. Specialist fire crews are carrying out a delicate rescue operation deep within the tunnels. Paramedics have been providing urgent medical care to the individual still trapped beneath the train, who remains in critical condition.
A BTP source confirmed: “We were called to Finsbury Park Station following reports of a person struck by a northbound Victoria Line train. Officers, paramedics, and firefighters are assisting the individual. Victoria Line services are suspended between Warren Street and Walthamstow Central while emergency operations are underway.”
Tube Chaos: Lines Suspended and Stations Closed
The accident has caused major travel disruption. Victoria Line trains have been suspended between Warren Street and Walthamstow Central, halting services on a critical stretch. The Piccadilly Line is also suffering minor delays thanks to the station closure.
Transport for London (TfL) urged commuters to use alternative routes, activating mutual ticket acceptance across London Overground, National Rail, and local buses. Finsbury Park Station is currently closed, with severe delays rippling across the network.
TfL said: “Finsbury Park Station is closed due to an emergency incident. Victoria Line services are suspended between Warren Street and Walthamstow Central, with severe delays elsewhere. Passengers should avoid the area and check live updates on our website and social media.”
Shock and Chaos: Witnesses Recall Panic at the Station
Passengers at Finsbury Park described chaotic scenes as emergency alarms blared and announcements urged evacuations. Mark Reynolds, who was waiting for a Victoria Line train, said: “Everything stopped suddenly. Staff told us to leave the platform quickly. It was obvious something serious had happened.”
Emergency crews have cordoned off parts of the station while Station Place is closed to traffic to allow free access for emergency vehicles.
Investigation Launched Amid Appeal for Witnesses
