Man Arrested in Dartford Over Suspicious Package

Suspicious Behaviour Sparks Police Action

A 29-year-old man was caught red-handed in Dartford after police found him with a suspicious package. Officers stopped and searched him at around 11:30am on Wednesday, 26 April, in Prospect Place during routine patrols.

Bomb Squad Called In as Precaution

Concerned for public safety, police set up a cordon while an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team from the British Army was called to assess the item. The area around the retail park was partially sealed off during the operation.

EOD Team Confirms No Danger

After a thorough inspection, the EOD experts confirmed the item did not pose a threat to the public. However, the suspect remains in custody. Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident, with the cordon staying in place for the foreseeable future.
