Murder Probe Launched After New Cross Stabbing
A 26-year-old man has been fatally stabbed at a home on Monson Road, New Cross. Police rushed to the scene at 7:26pm on Saturday following reports of a man with serious stab wounds.
Emergency crews – including London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance medics – fought to save the victim. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the scene. Specialist officers are now supporting his grieving family.
Suspect Held in Custody
Minutes after the incident, officers arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody as detectives launch a fast-paced investigation into what led to the deadly attack.
Detective Chief Inspector Appeals for Witnesses
Detective Chief Inspector Lucie Card said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the victim at this difficult time. I understand this incident will be concerning and we are carrying out a fast-paced and thorough investigation to establish the circumstances. I would encourage anyone who has not yet spoken to us to come forward.”
