Bomb scare in Burnham as man arrested over explosives
Early morning chaos on The Fairway
Thames Valley Police swooped on a Burnham home just before 6am yesterday after a suspicious explosive was reported. Officers found a stash of chemicals inside, sparking panic among neighbours.
Evacuations and explosive disposal
Nearby residents were forced out of their homes as a precaution while Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) experts were called in to deal with the dangerous materials. The team safely carried out controlled burns to neutralise the threat.
Man in custody as probe continues
After the tense operation, residents were allowed back around midnight. A 40-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of explosives. Police investigations are ongoing.
