Motorbike Rider Mowed Down by Fuel Tanker
A man was rushed to hospital after being hit by a petrol tanker delivering fuel to the BP garage on the Isle of Sheppey. Emergency services, including police, firefighters, and paramedics, raced to Queensborough Corner just after 5.40pm on Wednesday.
Entrapped Under 52,000-Litre Fuel Tanker
The victim, believed to be riding a motorbike, was struck as the tanker pulled out of the garage after making its delivery. The impact left him trapped beneath the massive 52,000-litre fuel tanker, sparking a major rescue effort.
Firefighters Rescue Victim While Police Investigate
Kent Fire and Rescue crews worked swiftly to free the man. Relatives arrived at the scene and accompanied him to hospital. Police stayed with the tanker driver and are reviewing CCTV footage from the garage to piece together exactly what happened.
Road Reopened After Collision
The road was closed in both directions but has now reopened. A Kent Police spokesman said: “Kent Police was called at 5.25pm to a collision in Queenborough Road, Minster on Sea. A man is reported to be trapped under a vehicle.”
