Five nabbed in Marden drug and weapons raid
Five suspects were arrested in a dramatic police swoop near Maidstone after officers uncovered a stash of drugs, ammunition, and burglary gear in rural west Kent.
Suspect Tries to Ditch Cocaine in Pond
Kent Police mounted the raid on 31 May 2025 at a site close to the A229 Staplehurst Road. When cops arrived, one suspect reportedly hurled several parcels into a nearby pond. The packages, fished out by officers, contained cocaine along with shotgun cartridges and ball bearings.
Burglary Kit and Cannabis Farm Revealed
The search uncovered more than just drugs and ammo. Police found:
- Balaclavas, gloves, and power tools
- A cannabis grow operation in a nearby field
Five Arrested and Bailed
The suspects include:
- A 50-year-old local man suspected of possession with intent to supply
- A woman in her 30s from Tonbridge, linked to cocaine supply
- A local woman in her 40s on suspicion of manufacturing ammunition
- Two men in their 20s from Orpington and Swanscombe, suspected of burglary-related offences
All five have been released on bail while investigations continue.
