Mother Stabbed in Random Attack by Teen Yob in Islington
Christel Stainfield-Bruce, 36, was stabbed in the thigh after refusing a demand for her phone by a yob in north London. The shocking attack happened on Friday afternoon in Islington when the thug first asked for directions and then suddenly lunged with a knife.
Lucky to Escape Serious Injury
Christel, a mother of three, was rushed to hospital where doctors confirmed the blade narrowly missed a major artery. She told reporters: “It feels so unnecessary. There was no gain, he didn’t even get my phone or bag or anything.”
She added: “It must be a symptom of a wider problem. What is the state of the country when young children are causing big wounds to strangers, with no one to turn to? What’s going through these people’s heads?”
Police Hunt Teen Attacker
The attacker is believed to be aged 14 to 16. Christel was shocked by how young he looked.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman confirmed no arrests have been made yet. Officers are searching for a 5ft 3in tall, large-built black male wearing dark clothing, including a jacket and a trucker-style cap.
