Fake Buyer Bamboozles Victims in Bournemouth iPhone Scam

A crafty conman posed as a buyer to score an Apple iPhone 13 Pro in Bournemouth – but the cash never landed in the seller’s account. The scam unfolded around 3.50pm on Saturday 5 November 2022 when the man turned up to collect the phone after claiming to have sent money via his phone.

Photos Snapped but No Cash

Despite the victim snapping pictures of the man’s car, registration, and driving licence, the cash never showed. The dodgy buyer sped off in a blue BMW, leaving the seller out of pocket and fuming.

Six More Scams Hit Dorset and Weymouth

Police are linking this trickster to six similar frauds between 4 and 5 November across Bournemouth, East Dorset, and 123 or by ringing Freephone 0800 555 111.
