Fake Cops Hold Up Croydon Home in £20,000 Raid
On Sunday, 25 October 2020, a terrifying robbery unfolded on Featherbed Lane, Croydon. Between 4.55pm and 5.10pm, three men posing as police officers targeted a local home – and made off with a fortune.
Masking as Police, They Forced Their Way In
The trio arrived in a silver Vauxhall Insignia sporting a false plate, NA0 8XHZ. Wearing black baseball caps branded ‘police’ and utility belts with handcuffs, they flashed fake warrant cards. Claiming to be investigating tax evasion and money laundering, they quickly sowed doubt.
Despite growing suspicions from the residents, the men barged inside. One victim was pinned to the floor and had his hands zip-tied behind his back. The fakes threatened to “tear the place apart” unless the cash was handed over.
£20,000 Cash and Air Rifle Stolen in Shocking Raid
The criminals didn’t stop at threats – they looted over £20,000 in cash plus a high-powered air rifle. They then fled back to their silver Insignia, where a getaway driver was waiting. Police say the vehicle sped away along Featherbed Lane shortly after the heist.
