On the evening of Monday, 28 September 2020, officers noticed a dodgy car cruising through town. They tailed the vehicle as it left Kent, staying hot on its trail.

The chase ended in Croydon when a Metropolitan Police patrol helped pull the car over. The driver, a 38-year-old man from Thornton Heath, London, was quickly identified as a burglary suspect wanted in Bedfordshire.

Tools of Crime Found, Multiple Charges Laid

A search uncovered a stash of weapons: two axes, a crowbar, and gloves. The driver faced a slew of charges, including:

  • Burglary suspicion
  • Possession of offensive weapons in public
  • Going equipped to steal
  • Driving under the influence of drugs
  • Driving without a proper licence
  • Driving uninsured

He was arrested on the spot and taken into custody. The following day, he was granted bail to return on 31 October.
