Robbery Horror on Winchester Road: Elderly Man Mugged in Broad Daylight
Police are hunting a thief who targeted a 67-year-old man on Winchester Road, Basingstoke, just before rush hour on Monday, November 7. At around 5.30pm, the victim was crossing near the King of Wessex pub when a stranger demanded cash.
The man pulled out his wallet, but the attacker snatched it away and shoved him to the ground before fleeing.

Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
“This happened during the busy evening rush hour, and there were several people nearby, some who tried to help,” said PC Daniel Platt of Basingstoke CID. “We want anyone with info or anyone who may have found a man’s wallet to come forward.”
