Met Police Hunt 20 Men After Violent London Clash
The Metropolitan Police are on the lookout for 20 men involved in a violent counter-protest in central London on Saturday, 11 November. Tensions boiled over near Whitehall, sparking several incidents of disorder. Officers are investigating serious crimes including inciting racial hatred, racially aggravated public order offences, and assaults on police.
Relentless Police Work After The Dust Settled
Commander Kyle Gordon stressed that the job didn’t end when the protest finished. Since Remembrance Day, police have been combing through hours of CCTV footage, working tirelessly to ID those responsible for criminal acts. “Public order policing is ongoing,” said Gordon.
Public Urged to Help Identify Suspects
The Met is urging anyone across the UK to check out the images of these 20 men and come forward if they recognise them. Many may have travelled from outside London to take part. Officers want to question them about numerous offences linked to the chaotic scenes.
145 Arrests Made on the Day
- Weapons possession
- Criminal damage
- Public order offences
- Inciting racial hatred
- Possession of drugs
On the protest day alone, police arrested 145 people for a range of crimes.
