Paralysed Man Mugged in Daylight Horror on Penhill Street

Shock and outrage hit Penhill yesterday afternoon after a paralysed man in his 40s was violently robbed while out walking with a wheeled frame. The attack happened just after 1pm on Inglesham Road.

Victim Assaulted and Bag Snatched

The suspect ripped the victim’s holdall from his shoulder, causing him to fall and hit his head on the concrete. Thankfully, the man didn’t need hospital treatment. The stolen bag held shopping, including boxes of cigarettes.

Suspect Description and Police Appeal

Officers describe the attacker as a white male, around 6ft tall, in his late teens or early 20s. He was dressed all in black – baseball cap, jacket, and trousers.

“This was a despicable crime on a vulnerable man, who has been left incredibly traumatised by this attack,” said Inspector Colin Conway.

“If you know who this suspect is, or have been offered cigarettes for sale, please come forward.”
