Woman Hospitalised After Serious Assault on Newnham Road
Police raced to Newnham Road at 11.10am following reports of a serious assault.
Victim Suffers Head Injuries
A woman was rushed to hospital with head injuries. Thankfully, her wounds are not life-threatening.
Man Arrested at Scene
A man was arrested nearby and also taken to hospital for checks. The pair are known to each other, police confirmed.
“There is no wider risk to the public,” said a Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson. “Officers remain on scene conducting investigations.”
Newnham Road was briefly closed but has now reopened.
