Brixton Bottle Attack: Police Urge Witnesses to Step Forward
Police are scrambling to find witnesses after a man was brutalised in a late-night bottle attack in Brixton.
Glass Bottle Assault Shocks Brixton
Just after 3:30am on Saturday, 14 April, emergency crews were called to Effra Road near Crownstone Road, SW2, after a man in his 30s was attacked with a glass bottle. The victim was treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries are not life-threatening or permanently disabling.
Suspects on the Run
The attackers are described as two men in their 20s who fled the scene immediately after the assault. Police believe a key witness, a man standing at a nearby bus stop just before the attack, may have important information.
Missing Witnesses Could Crack Case
Crucially, a member of the public flagged down the ambulance crew but then vanished without giving a statement. Officers are urgently appealing for this person to come forward.
“We are keen to hear from anyone with information, especially the two witnesses present near the scene,” a Brixton police spokesperson said.
