Man in His 70s Dies at Scene

Police have launched a murder investigation after a man in his 70s was found dead at a flat in Brighton. Officers were called to a Lavender Street address shortly after 7:30pm yesterday, where they discovered the man with life-threatening injuries. Despite a rapid emergency response, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Woman Arrested Over Suspected Murder

A 70-year-old woman from Brighton has been arrested on suspicion of murder. She remains in police custody as the investigation continues.

Isolated Incident, Police Say No Wider Threat

Detective Chief Inspector Alex Campbell said, “This is a fast-moving investigation and officers moved quickly to arrest a suspect. It is believed to be an isolated incident involving two people known to each other and poses no threat to the wider community.” He added that residents can expect a continued and visible police presence in the area while inquiries are ongoing.
