Met Police Release New CCTV Images, Push for Public Help
With violence levels deemed “frankly unacceptable,” Commander Bas Javid slammed troublemakers targeting officers with racial abuse, bottle-throwing, and attacks. He said:
“When London witnessed the frankly unacceptable levels of violence during recent protests we said those actions would have consequences. This morning’s activity is proof of that and we expect to make more arrests for those who joined these demonstrations with the sole intention to cause trouble.”
“Officers come to work to keep Londoners safe, and it was deeply frustrating seeing them senselessly assaulted.”
The police are also releasing 22 new CCTV images from incidents between 3 June and 13 June, urging anyone who recognises the suspects to come forward.
Commander Javid added:
“Thank you to those who have helped so far — your info has been pivotal in today’s arrests. If you recognise anyone in the images, contact us immediately.”
