Thieves Busted After Using Stolen Van to Smash Gates and Steal Vehicles in Radford and Stapleford
Van Used in Two Brazen Break-Ins
Two suspects were caught red-handed after cops tracked down two vehicles linked to a string of burglaries on Thursday, 1 December. The drama kicked off around 5.30pm when a van was stolen during a break-in at a private unit on New Road, Radford. The same van was later used to ram through gates at two separate businesses, stealing building equipment and tools the first time.
Second Raid in Stapleford Ends in Police Chase
Hours later at 11.50pm, the van smashed through the gates of a business on Pasture Road, Stapleford, where thieves made off with a vehicle and car keys. Nottinghamshire’s road crime team rocked up to find the van still chained to the gate and a stolen car speeding off. What followed was a tense police chase.

The van, running cloned plates, rammed a police car and drove dangerously erratic before officers finally forced it to stop. Moments later, cops caught up with the stolen car and brought it to a halt. Two men, both 26, were arrested on suspicion of burglary, dangerous driving, and failing to stop.
One Suspect Faces Additional Charges
One of the men was also charged with being equipped for theft and driving while disqualified. Detective Sergeant Georgina Gallagher of Nottinghamshire Police said:
“Thanks to the actions of our officers, we were able to intercept and recover two stolen vehicles.
“Burglary is an incredibly intrusive crime that can have serious implications for local businesses by impacting people’s livelihoods, as well as their wellbeing.”
“The driving demonstrated during this incident was reckless in the extreme and has absolutely no place on our roads.”
“We have arrested two suspects but our inquiries are ongoing. Anyone with information should come forward immediately.”
