Violent Brawl Rocks Halifax Town Centre
Chaos erupted in Halifax in the early hours of Saturday, June 22, as a brutal fight in the town centre left three men hurt. Police rushed to Commercial Street after emergency calls reported a terrifying attack.
Man Slashed With Glass Bottle in Shocking Assault
At around 1:20am, police were alerted to a 26-year-old man being attacked by another male wielding a glass bottle. The victim suffered a serious puncture wound to his neck. Although his injuries are serious, they are not believed to be life-threatening. He was rushed to hospital for urgent treatment.
Two More Men Injured in Violent Clash
Detectives later uncovered that two other men were caught up in the violence. A 38-year-old sustained injuries to his face and leg, while a 52-year-old suffered a facial wound. Both received medical care and have since been discharged.
Ongoing Investigation as Suspect Held
The full circumstances behind the brawl remain unclear. Early reports suggest the fight started on Clare Road, moved through Ward’s End, and ended on Commercial Street. Police set up a strong presence, closing roads at Clare Road and New Road junctions.
A 38-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody as inquiries continue.
