Teen Stabbed to Death Outside Home in Forest Gate

Detectives are returning to Chestnut Avenue, Forest Gate, to hunt witnesses in the brutal stabbing of 18-year-old Sami Sidhom. Officers from the Homicide and Major Crime Command will be on the street on Monday, 23 April, urging locals to come forward with any information about the fatal attack.

Stabbing Shock After West Ham Game

Police were called just before 11pm on Monday, 16 April after reports of a stabbing outside Sami’s home. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, including London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance, but Sami was declared dead at 11.27pm. A post-mortem confirmed multiple stab wounds as the cause.

Sami had been out watching West Ham play and was walking the last stretch from a bus stop on Romford Road when he was ambushed by several suspects who stabbed him repeatedly.

Community Pleads for Justice

Detective Chief Inspector Mark Wrigley said: “Sami was set upon by an unknown number of suspects as he returned home. The motive remains unclear, but the investigation is progressing. We urge anyone with information, especially those who saw a fleeing car, to come forward.”

Sami’s family issued a heartfelt plea: “How many more have to die like this before anyone cares? Sami was a model son, a brilliant student studying law, and a passionate West Ham fan. He was stabbed in the back by cowards at just 18 years old. We are living in a society where knives run free and lives are shattered.”

They added, “We thank everyone who helped Sami in his final moments and those who have shown kindness. We call on the community to not let silence allow knife crime to steal more young lives. Justice itself has been stabbed in the back.”
