A busy Birmingham street was shut down after a terrifying early-morning collision left a man fighting for his life.

Man in Critical Condition After Pedestrian Crash

West Midlands Ambulance Service rushed to the scene at 6.40am on Tuesday following a crash involving a pedestrian and a car.

The smash occurred at the busy junction of Lawley Middleway and Garrison Circus in Digbeth.

A spokesman said: “Two ambulances and the MERIT trauma team responded immediately. On arrival, crews found the pedestrian, a man, in critical condition.”

Paramedics are currently battling to save the man’s life at the scene. The road remains closed as police carry out their investigation into the shocking smash.
