RSPCA Probes Shocking Death of XL Bully Thrown From Sheffield Flyover

The RSPCA is investigating a gruesome case after the body of a muzzled XL Bully was found dumped beneath the A57 flyover in The Washlands, Beighton, Sheffield, on Monday, January 22. The black and white dog apparently suffered fatal injuries after being thrown from the road above.

Blunt Force Trauma Confirms Horrific Act

Inspector Kristy Ludlam revealed the bleak facts of the case. “From the injuries and where the dog was found, it looks like she was thrown from the flyover and died due to blunt force trauma when she hit the ground,” she said.

Call for Witnesses as Investigation Intensifies

The dog was discovered on a popular route for dog walkers. The RSPCA is urgently appealing for anyone who saw suspicious activity around the time or location to come forward and help crack the case.

Dog Linked to Wigan Breeder but Owner Unknown

Although microchipped to a breeder in Wigan, the dog’s current owner remains unregistered. The tragedy hits amid new UK laws classifying XL Bullies as dangerous dogs. Owners faced a January 31 deadline to obtain exemptions, requiring them to muzzle and leash their pets in public.

Those without exemptions risk having their dogs seized and euthanised by police.
