Wolverhampton Man Jailed for Nearly 20 Years Over Shocking Abuse Spree
Lamont Geddes, 24, from Wolverhampton, has been slammed with a 19-and-a-half-year prison sentence for a horrifying campaign of rape, assault, and coercive control over a woman. The victim endured years of mental and physical torment before finally breaking free.
Years of Abuse and Control
Geddes held the woman captive in a web of fear, abuse, and manipulation. She suffered threats to her life, including terrifying arson threats. The nightmare reached a breaking point on August 11 last year when, after a violent episode, she desperately flagged down a police car and revealed the full extent of Geddes’ abuse.
Convicted on Multiple Charges
The jury at Wolverhampton Crown Court found Geddes guilty of 11 offences, including six counts of rape, two counts of assault, controlling and coercive behavior, grievous bodily harm, and attempted wounding. Despite denying all charges, Garda’s testimony was crucial in securing the conviction.
