Six Guns Seized in Essex Armed Van Stop

Police smashed a major firearms supply ring after seizing six loaded guns and ammunition during a dramatic stop in Roydon, Essex. Armed officers pulled over a white van on Epping Road at 8am on Tuesday, 25 February, as part of a crackdown by the Specialist Crime North proactive syndicate.

Two Men Arrested in Firearms Bust

The 33-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of possession of firearms. Following a search, officers executed a firearms warrant at a property on Little Brook Road, uncovering four handguns and two shotguns – all loaded – along with ammo and cartridges.

A second man, 29, was also arrested but later released under investigation. The primary suspect remains in custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Driss Hayoukane said: “Firearms are part of the toolkit of violent criminals, and the Met is committed to taking them off the streets and identifying and arresting people who acquire, use, and seek to make a profit from the sale of firearms.

Officers are conducting potentially dangerous operations like this every day in order to protect the public, and we will continue in our efforts to bear down on violent crime in the capital.”
