Man Attacked in Homophobic Bar Assault in The Grove
A 20-year-old man was targeted with homophobic abuse and attacked in a shocking late-night incident at a bar in The Grove, E15.
Horrific Attack After Homophobic Taunts
The victim was socialising with friends at around 11pm on Friday, 19 August 2022, when an unknown man approached him. By midnight, the attacker began hurling homophobic slurs. The victim tried to escape the hateful remarks by moving to another table – but it didn’t stop there.
Moments later, the victim was struck on the chin with a glass, causing serious injury. He was rushed to hospital where he received stitches.
Police Hunt Suspect Caught on CCTV
Officers are urgently seeking to identify and speak with the man seen in CCTV footage from the scene. They believe he holds key information about this vile assault.
