Three school pupils were rushed to hospital after plummeting from a double-decker bus window in Greater Manchester. The shocking fall happened in Ashton-in-Makerfield, sparking a major emergency response.

Emergency Services Race to the Scene

Just before 4pm on Tuesday, emergency teams were scrambled to Bolton Road following reports of the incident. Crews arrived swiftly to treat the teens and secure the area.

Police Confirm Pupils Seriously Injured but Will Recover

Greater Manchester Police’s Inspector Simon Barrie confirmed the trio suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

“This does appear to be an unfortunate accident at this time, but we will be making enquiries as to the circumstances and liaising with partners,” he said.

The road was temporarily shut but has since reopened as officers continue their investigation.

Transport for Greater Manchester Offers Support

Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) expressed sympathy and pledged full cooperation with authorities.

“Our thoughts are with those injured and we want to wish them a speedy recovery. Emergency services remain at the scene, and we are working closely with the bus operator in supporting police with their enquiries into the incident.”
