Four Young Men Die in Tragic A436 Crash Near Cheltenham
Heartbreak hit early Sunday as four friends aged 18 and 20 were killed when their car slammed into a tree off the A436 at Ullenwood, near Cheltenham. The victims – Andrei Tudorov, Lyuben Gogov, Narcis Titianu, and Ioan Toma – were all pronounced dead at the scene.
Friends from Romania and Bulgaria on a Night Out
Andrei Tudorov, 18, a Romanian visiting the UK on holiday, was travelling with friends Lyuben Gogov, 20, from Bulgaria, and Romanians Narcis Titianu and Ioan Toma, both 20 and local to Gloucester. The group were driving a black Renault Clio when tragedy struck just before 2am.
Families Pay Emotional Tributes to Lost Sons
Grief has engulfed the families of the victims. Andrei’s mother, Iolanda Tudorov, described him as an “angelic presence” destined for a career in law enforcement who left behind “an ocean of sadness.”
“He was a warm and loving soul, a good brother, an angel who took flight much too soon,” she mourned.
Lyuben’s parents spoke of his “everlasting smile” and the joy he brought them. Narcis’s family remembered him as the “cherished youngest sibling” spreading boundless love and happiness. Ioan’s loved ones called him a “beacon of light,” whose laughter brightened even the darkest days.
Community Calls for Action on Dangerous A436
Local residents and Gloucestershire County Councillor Paul Hodgkinson have voiced deep sorrow and concern. Hodgkinson emphasised the dangers of the A436, especially around the Ullenwood Manor Road junction, urging urgent safety improvements. He said on X:
“This is very sad. The A436 is an extremely busy road which has had accidents and some fatalities over the last few years.”
With flowers now laid at the crash site, police continue to appeal for witnesses as investigations into the horrific collision go on. The community mourns four young lives cruelly cut short in a tragic accident that has shaken Gloucestershire to its core.
