Three Dead in Fiery Crash Near Feltham Young Offenders Institution
Tragedy struck just before midnight near Feltham Young Offenders Institution in west London. A car slammed into an H26 bus on narrow Bedfont Road, close to a railway bridge, and both vehicles erupted in flames.
Two Teens and Another Passenger Lose Lives
The smash claimed three lives, including two teenagers—a local boy and girl—and another passenger in the car. A fourth person was rushed to hospital with injuries. Witnesses described the aftermath as horrific, with flowers now laid at the scene in their memory.
Bus Passengers Injured but Not Critical
- The Metropolitan Police confirmed two bus passengers were hospitalised, though their injuries aren’t life-threatening.
- Several other passengers received treatment at the scene.
Emergency Crews Battle Blaze Until Early Hours
The London Fire Brigade, with firefighters from Feltham and Heston stations, tackled the blaze and brought it under control by 1:41 am on Tuesday. The London Ambulance Service also responded swiftly.
Claire Mann, COO at TfL, said: “Our thoughts go out to the families and friends of those tragically killed in this devastating collision. Safety is our top priority, and we are working urgently with police on their investigation.”
Police cordoned off the area for hours but have since reopened the road. Investigators are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward to help piece together what happened.
