Trouble Flares on Brighton Seafront
On Friday night, Brighton’s iconic seafront turned violent as two teenage boys were stabbed near Hove Lawns. The attacks came amid a wave of disorderly behaviour and anti-social incidents, forcing Sussex Police to ramp up patrols and arrest two teenage suspects.
Sussex Police had already boosted their presence across Brighton city centre on May 31, anticipating large youth crowds soaking up the warm weather. Officers dealt with multiple reports of intoxication, violence, and disorder throughout the evening.

Police Warn Against Rising Violence
Chief Inspector Vicky Dias of Sussex Police said: “Everyone has the right to enjoy the summer weather in peace, but when social gatherings spiral into criminal disorder, we will act decisively. These incidents show how quickly anti-social behaviour can turn violent, with potentially tragic consequences. We urge parents to watch their children’s behaviour and whereabouts to keep them safe.”
Police will maintain heightened patrols across Brighton throughout the weekend, working closely with local businesses, residents, and youth to prevent further trouble.
