Tragedy on Wormshill road as cyclist, 71, killed in late-afternoon crash
Fatal Collision Shakes Quiet Village
At around 5pm on Tuesday 18 October 2022, a yellow Renault Scenic smashed into a bicycle on The Street in Wormshill. The 71-year-old cyclist suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two Men Arrested Over Deadly Crash
Police swooped on two men from Sittingbourne, aged 35 and 55, arresting them on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Both remain in custody as investigations intensify.
Officers Seek Witnesses and Footage
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is hunting for crucial CCTV or dashcam footage from Wormshill and nearby villages. Any clips showing the car or bicycle’s movements around the crash time could prove vital.
