A woman has tragically died following a serious collision on Cookgate, Nunthorpe, sparking a massive emergency response on Wednesday, 7 May.

Police, firefighters, paramedics, and the Great North Air Ambulance scrambled to the crash site shortly after 12.35pm. Eyewitness photos captured a huge police cordon sealing off the cul-de-sac where the smash happened. The air ambulance crew, including a doctor and two paramedics, touched down within minutes to offer lifesaving aid.
