Portsmouth Burglar Charlee Frost Jailed for 22 Months
Charlee Louise Frost, 36, from Kingston Road, Portsmouth, is behind bars for 22 months. She was convicted of burglary, assault, and fraud at Portsmouth Crown Court on June 19.
Shocking Attack on 86-Year-Old Victim
On May 17, 2023, Frost targeted an elderly woman aged 86 outside her home on Powerscourt Road. The victim was throwing rubbish away when Frost approached, pretending to ask for directions. Moments later, Frost sneaked into the house, claiming to have used the toilet. The victim soon realised her purse with bank cards was missing.
Spotting Frost on Farlington Road, the victim confronted her, sparking an assault. Frost then used the stolen bank card to make purchases before police swooped in, recovering the stolen goods and jewellery. The victim sustained cuts and bruises and required medical attention.
Sentence Breakdown: 22 Months for Crime Spree
- 20 months for burglary
- 2 months for assault (served consecutively)
- 1 month for fraud (served concurrently)
Frost’s total jail time adds up to 22 months after the sentencing on September 29, 2023.
Police Warn: Elderly Must Be Protected from Ruthless Crooks
“Not only did Frost steal from the victim, but she also assaulted her,” said investigating officer PC Rosy Dudeney-Cotteril. “Thankfully, she was not more seriously hurt. This sentence sends a clear message to distraction burglars or anyone preying on elderly or vulnerable people in the city – we will hunt you down and deliver justice.”
