Grotesque Child Abuse Platform Busted: 450 UK Arrests and Counting
Police have shattered a horrifying child abuse ring after uncovering some of the most “devastating” material ever seen. The sickening stash included videos showing the torture, rape, and sexual abuse of three kidnapped girls — one just 18 months old.
Mass Arrests Across the UK
Authorities in New Zealand, where the vile platform was hosted, launched an investigation in October 2019. They identified tens of thousands of users worldwide. The UK’s National Crime Agency (NCA) received data on suspects in Britain and launched a top-priority crackdown. So far, 450 users linked to the site have been arrested by police, Regional Organised Crime Units, and the NCA. The NCA alone has arrested 95, with 42 charged and 28 convicted.
Officers have also safeguarded 79 children, many saved from ongoing abuse uncovered during the probe.
Cases Reveal Shocking Twists
- Robert Stanley from Essex was jailed with his partner Danielle Schofield for nearly eight years after police found they abused a child and plotted to enslave her.
- Steven Skelton from Folkestone received a 10-year sentence after police busted his role directing worldwide abuse. He had over 230 sick live-streaming videos of children as young as seven.
- Brothers Akaash and Nadeem Hussain from Sheffield, both possessing hundreds of indecent images, were arrested; Akaash worked at a children’s home.
Many offenders held trusted jobs in schools, nurseries, law enforcement, healthcare, and even religious institutions. Some were applying for roles or volunteering with children.
NCA Vows to Keep Fighting Child Predators
“This has, and continues to be, a hugely important operation,” said Sarah Blight, Deputy Director of the Child Sexual Abuse Threat at the NCA. “Much of this activity took place during Covid-19 lockdowns when children were vulnerable at home and offenders had more time online targeting victims.”
“We prioritised the highest-risk offenders and worked closely with UK policing partners. Every month, more than 850 suspects are arrested, and over 1,050 children safeguarded across Britain. Our focus remains on hunting down the most dangerous predators and bringing them to justice.”
