A teen has been handed a four-month detention order after viciously attacking a man with a wooden bat in broad daylight.
Brutal Attack on the Green
The shocking assault happened on January 10 on the Green, Nursteed Road. The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered a deep head cut, lost teeth, and is suspected to have a fractured arm after the attack.
Youth Guilty of Multiple Offences
At swindon/" title="Swindon" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Swindon Magistrates Court on April 11, the 15-year-old admitted to the attack. He also pleaded guilty to possession of an air weapon and assaulting an emergency worker during a separate incident on April 8. Additionally, he confessed to damaging a police cell door.
Police Condemn Behaviour
Sgt Luke Atkinson from Devizes blasted the teen’s actions: “This is completely disgraceful and shocking behaviour that simply will not be tolerated in our community.”
“We have seen an increase in youth-related crime recently, and we would encourage anyone who sees anything suspicious to contact us immediately. Our officers will always respond swiftly and robustly to reports of this nature.”
