Knife Attacker Jailed for Eight Years After Brutal Daylight Stabbing
Fabian Silva, 19, from Sedgley Close, has been locked up for eight years plus an extra year after a savage stabbing in broad daylight. The Portsmouth Crown Court sentenced him following his conviction for wounding with intent and carrying a blade in public.
Bladed Attack Leaves Teen Fighting for Life
The brutal assault happened on April 30th in Slindon Street, where Silva viciously stabbed a 19-year-old victim. Police rushed to the scene around 5.30pm after reports of a knife attack.
The victim suffered a serious wound to his right arm and was rushed to southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton General Hospital. He was placed in an induced coma and had emergency surgery but thankfully has since made a recovery.
Perp Denies Charges But Jury Sees Through the Lies
Despite Silva’s denial, a jury found him guilty after a gruelling trial in October. He was sentenced on Monday 13 December to eight years behind bars plus a one-year extension.
A second 19-year-old man charged in connection with the stabbing was found not guilty of all charges, including possession of a bladed article.

“This was a senseless and brazen attack in broad daylight in a busy part of the city centre,” said Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector Nicola Burton.
“The victim is very fortunate to be alive. This could have been far worse. We’re pleased with the sentence today which reflects a thorough investigation and sends a clear message – knife crime won’t be tolerated.”
