Emergency Call to Fishing Pond
At 9.21pm on June 16, emergency crews rushed to a fishing pond off Herries Road in Sheffield’s Shirecliffe area. A man was reported in distress. The victim, identified as Kevin Hodkinson, a devoted father of three, was rushed to hospital but sadly died shortly after.
Family Pays Heartfelt Tribute
Kevin’s loved ones have shared a touching tribute alongside a photo of the father, grandfather, and friend. They said, “Kevin was a much loved son, father, grandfather, brother, partner, uncle, and friend.”
Murder Charge Made – Suspect in Custody
Sheffield detectives swiftly launched an investigation. Kieran Hayes, 33, from Oxspring Bank Road, has been charged with murder and is now remanded in custody. He is set to face Sheffield Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
